WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff senior sustainability consultant Andrew Williams has been announced as head of the company’s new South Australian sustainability team, moving from Queensland.

At the same time UK-based associate director sustainability Brendan Tapley has joined the Melbourne sustainability team.

Sustainability director for Australia New Zealand Tim Parker said the South Australian sustainability team was created to better support client portfolios as Adelaide moved towards carbon neutrality.

“Mr Williams brings energy modelling, solar shading, thermal comfort and daylight analysis expertise along with significant Green Star capability to South Australia just as Adelaide gears up to be the world’s first carbon neutral city by 2025,” he said.

“Notable projects in South Australia include the City Central CBD Development, Sustainable Industries Education Centre (TAFE SA), the Flinders University Student Hub development and the Flinders at Tonsley CSEM building, which recently received the best Educational Architecture award from the Australian Institute of Architects (South Australian Chapter) and was also recognised by Engineers Australia for its innovative use of BIM through all project phases, including FM.”

Mr Parker said Mr Tapley’s previous management of international projects for institutional property investors, utility companies, blue-chip corporates and local, state and federal government would be of value to Australian clients.

“His expertise includes energy and carbon reporting (across criteria including GRESB), energy management and monitoring of buildings, through to sustainable precinct and infrastructure planning.”
