Suzie Barnett has taken on the role of general manager of Junglefy to coordinate the growth and operations of the business in Australia. Junglefy specialises in “living infrastructure”, designing, installing and maintaining green walls, roofs, facades and podiums.

A former executive director of the Green Building Council of Australia, Barnett has run consultancy Good Marketing & PR with Nicole Smith for three years, and will now report to Hanna Gammon, co-founder of Junglefy.

Barnett said she was inspired by Junglefy’s drive to bring more plants into our cities in order to improve human health and wellbeing as well as increase biodiversity.

“I love the idea of plants being woven into the very fabric of our built environment to create what we call ‘living infrastructure’,” she said.

“Having spent over a decade helping to create and establish the green building movement, I believe Junglefy is a natural extension of that work – this time amplifying the biological power of plants to clean the air and filter out the toxins we produce every day that are harmful to human health.

“Junglefy has already grown substantially, and has made significant impact on our cities, and I want to help to take it to the next level.”

The team is expanding, with landscape architect James Worth becoming the state manager of Queensland.

Barnett is also looking for someone to take on a similar role in Victoria, where there are a number of projects, including an 88-square-metre breathing wall, which will be the largest in Australia.
