Residents of Stockland homes may be able to snag a discount on their rooftop solar thanks to a new national scheme recently launched by the developer.

Through a partnership with solar and battery provider Bradford Energy, the developer is offering residents of homes will be able to secure discounts of between 15 and 20 per cent on packages for solar panels, inverters and optimisers, and battery systems.

Already attracting a lot of interest, the back-dated scheme is open to all owners of Stockland homes built since the 1st of January 2019. This could cover up to 25,000 homes, depending on take up.

A package of 20 solar panels, with a battery, could save households as much as $3000 a year, according to Stockland managing director and chief executive officer Mark Steinert.

“We want Australians to live happily, sustainably and affordably in our communities and believe renewable energy offerings such as this, are not only good for the environment, but can be a good investment for residents,” he said.

The program follows the installation of 12.1MW of solar capacity last year capacity, bringing the company’s total portfolio solar capacity to 16.4MW.
