20 April 2017
From the Victorian Government:
Victorian energy minister Lily D’Ambrosio has announced $900,000 funding for a two-year pilot of Community Power Hubs in Bendigo, Ballarat and the Latrobe Valley.
The three hubs will support the development of community renewable energy projects such as “solar gardens” and community wind farms by providing legal and technical expertise, as well as start-up funding.

“Interest in community energy projects has increased significantly over the years, with communities wanting greater control over their energy and associated costs.”
Ms D’Ambrosio said the hubs would drive investment into the regions, create jobs and reduce energy bills.
Expressions of interest are now being taken to host a pilot hub. For more information and to apply see here
