Brief: Greenpeace has come out in support of the New South Wales government’s $1 billion proposal to upgrade the state’s electricity system transmission in preparation for the closing of the Liddell coal-fired power plant closes in 2023.

“While federal MP’s like Angus Taylor continue fighting boutique culture wars by trying to use public money to fund dirty and polluting coal power stations, the NSW state government is getting on with the job of modernising the electricity system,” said Mr Hanson.
