Open letter calling for stronger minimum standards for rental homes

IN BREIF: Some rental homes are little better than tents and now a collection of community, business, research and environment groups have penned an open letter to call for the NSW government to set strong minimum standards for rental homes.

Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics indicate that renters are three times more likely than homeowners to live in a home without insulation, meaning those homes get dangerously cold in winter and hot in summer (read about what it’s like sleeping in a rental during a heat wave here).
