7 May 2014 — Global multi-disciplinary consulting firm Meinhardt is strengthening its presence in South East Queensland with the opening of a Sunshine Coast office, to be headed up by Sunshine Coast-based civil engineer David Cummings.
The new office expands the capabilities of Meinhardt Group’s fully-owned Queensland land development consultancy, Bradlees, which was acquired in 2012. Services that will be provided include civil consulting, structural and building services engineering, facade engineering, energy and carbon advice, sustainability consulting and sustainable communities design and advice.
“Living and working on the Sunshine Coast, I have that local knowledge and appreciation of what the area has to offer,” Mr Cummings said. “It’s a fine balance between the need for additional development, and protecting and embracing the surrounding environment. There are exciting opportunities and times ahead for the Sunshine Coast and surrounding regions.
“We are already working on several Sunshine Coast projects and have been recently appointed to precincts within Peregian Springs for Sunland Group and Aveo.”
Meinhardt’s previous projects in the area included structural and civil engineering for Moreton Bay Regional Council’s Caboolture Hub project, which won the F.D.G Stanley Award for Public Architecture at the 2013 Queensland Architecture Awards.
