Manningham helps drive the transition to electric vehicles

25 February 2020

As big global car makers electrify their models, Manningham Council is asking the experts how things could shape up in Australia with an expo event, Electric Vehicles – Are We There Yet? on Thursday 26 March in Doncaster.

The event will showcase some of the latest electric models by car and bike manufacturers along with presentations by industry and transport experts on the changes taking place in the vehicle industry and whether now is the time to move to electric vehicles.

Manningham Mayor, Cr Paul McLeish, says transport and motor vehicle industries are rapidly changing and this event aims to provide updates on the latest developments in the transport sector and electric vehicle space.

“As a Council, we acknowledge there is a state of serious climate and environmental change, and this climate emergency requires urgent action by all levels of government, including local government,” he said.

“Manningham Council is also exploring options to update and include electric vehicles as part of its fleet to reduce carbon emissions and operational costs.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to see the latest electric vehicles offered by car and bike manufacturers, speak to manufacturing representatives and hear from experts in the field.
