Please join us for the annual Judith Neilson lecture, held as part of the UTZON lecture series, with a global leader in disaster recovery Brett Moore, Head of Shelter and Settlements at UNHCR.

The Global Refugee Crisis: the Role of Built Environment Professionals

This talk will explore details of the scope of global humanitarian displacement and what role built environment professionals can have in responding to this, particularly from the Australian perspective. The challenges faced by refugees and internally displaced people across a range of contexts, including urban areas, will be discussed with specific details around and how we can begin to frame the issues, understand current responses and work better across disciples to confront complex issues.

Following the lecture, you are invited to an exclusive preview of the Luminocity exhibition showcasing the amazing work of our students from across the Built Environment disciplines.

Explore the interactive exhibition, celebrate students’ talent with us and connect with peers over drinks and canapes.
