NABERS: Senior Team Leaders

NABERS is a national rating system that measures the environmental performance of Australian buildings. NABERS measures the energy efficiency, water usage, waste management and indoor environment quality of a building and its impact on the environment.

NABERS is looking for two senior team leaders for its Market Development and Product and Standards teams, to work on implementing our new strategic plan (find out more here). 

  • Job Grade / Classification: Environment Officer Class 12
  • Employment Type: Temporary Full-time (Up to 3 Years) – 2 roles available
  • Location: Sydney CBD – Relocating to Parramatta late 2019 / early 2020 

ROLE 1: SENIOR TEAM LEADER – HEAD OF MARKET DEVELOPMENT

The primary purpose of this role is to increase the market for NABERS ratings through developing the market growth strategy and providing leadership and direction to market development, communication and policy development teams.

Key accountabilities: 

  • Development and delivery of the NABERS market development strategy with the 5-year outcome of doubling the number of ratings (based on 2017 levels).
  • Managing, maintaining and improving products in sectors prioritised for strategic market growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage, mentor and develop staff working on strategic market development, communications and policy
  • Lead the scoping and investigation of key opportunities for growth in sectors with existing NABERS tools
  • Coordinate program feedback and provide leadership team with recommended sectors for strategic market growth on an annual basis
  • Develop the marketing and engagement strategy for sectors prioritised for market growth engagement, as well as the rest of the program
  • Lead engagement with governments throughout Australia on key policy opportunities for NABERS
  • Identify and build partnerships with key stakeholders and organisations to deliver growth targets and policy outcomes
  • Determine and prioritise the deployment of communication platforms, materials and events
  • Recruit, mentor and develop team members to achieve outcomes
  • Represent NABERS and its products at key industry forums and government and state-based consultations.

ROLE 2: SENIOR TEAM LEADER – HEAD OF PRODUCTS AND STANDARDS

The primary purpose of this role is: 

  • To develop the strategy for and oversee the product lifecycle (inception, development, launch, maintenance and improvement) of all NABERS products (except for technology platforms) in collaboration with the Market Development and Product Development teams.
  • To develop the strategy and lead implementation of product quality assurance, technical product improvements, training and certifications. To maintain and improve existing NABERS rating tools and services.
  • To provide leadership and direction to allocate technical resources to support program integrity, quality and improvement.

Key accountabilities: 

  • Accountable for managing, maintaining and improving tools for the majority of existing NABERS products.
  • Accountable for the establishment and oversight of the product life-cycle (inception, development, launch, maintenance and improvement) and quality of all NABERS products.
  • Accountable for maintaining the standard of NABERS Assessors and their work through training and auditing and for meeting certification and auditing targets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage, mentor and develop staff working on overseeing product lifecycle and quality, tool maintenance, certifications and audits, technical improvement projects and training
  • Coordinate program feedback and provide the leadership team with a program of recommended technical improvements to the program for endorsement by the NABERS Steering Committee (where applicable) on an annual basis
  • Develop and continually improve the product lifecycle framework and manage implementation of improvements
  • Ensuring consistency and fairness of the NABERS rules and tools and approve any changes to the rules
  • Oversee and develop the technical community of practice across all NABERS teams
  • Keep abreast of key industries and trends that may impact on NABERS rules
  • Continue to improve and streamline the certification process
  • Represent NABERS and its products at key industry forums and government and state-based consultations.
