The NSW Environment Protection Authority has released a video demonstrating the impact that its rebate program has made to a business regarding managing its waste and recycling streams.
Through a Bin Trim rebate the EPA paid half the cost of a baler, saving Modern Tiles Erina $2000 a year. This Central Coast tile retailer accepted the offer of an obligation free waste assessment and assistance to apply for the rebate funded under the Bin Trim program.
NSW businesses send more than 1.8 million tonnes of business waste to landfill each year. The good news is more than 70 per cent of this could be reused or recycled. Bin Trim has been designed to help small and medium sized businesses quickly identify simple actions they can take to start cutting waste and boost profits.
Under the Bin Trim Business Grants Program, your business may be eligible for free advice and funding support to help you waste less and recycle more. Over 8000 businesses have already joined the Bin Trim program and are saving. The next round of funding aims to help another 12,000 businesses by offering a rebate of between $1000 and $50,000 to help with the cost of recycling equipment.
If your business employs between one and 199 employees, an EPA-funded Bin Trim assessor may be able to conduct a free waste and recycling assessment and produce an action plan for your business.
